FRIDAY 11 JULY 2025 - From a 3-0 victory over Tunisia in their opening match, you would expect the Super Falcons of Nigeria to dominate possession powerfully against the Mares of Botswana.

In the first half the Nigerians did just that but the brave Botswanan spirits showed up strongly and locked the sides at level zero. Indeed both sides battled bravely, though the Nigerians were mostly in attack.

However in the final moments of injury time the Super Falcons saw another way to prey in the Botswanan box > Rahseedat Busayo Ajibade crossed for Veronica Ihezuo Chinwendu to clinch all three points.

Botswana will be gutted to have gotten so close to the draw but Tunisia lost 3-0 to Nigeria in the first match, so Botswana should take much pride from their performance and result tonight.

These contests at WAFCON with CAF are capturing the beauty of international football - bringing countries together regardless of their differences.
